Reviving the Traditional Neighborhood Concept in Myrtle Beach

Local residents recently caught wind of our plans for Living Dunes, an upcoming neighborhood in the Grande Dunes area of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina just a few blocks from the ocean, and the interest has been growing ever since. While we don’t want to reveal too many details yet, the media has shared enough information to start questions about plans for the style of homes, price ranges, and amenities. For now, we can say that Living Dunes will be built around the natural landscaping of a 41-acre tract between Grande Dunes Boulevard and 82nd Parkway. With over 218 units, Living Dunes will be one of the city’s largest communities outside of the Market Common area.

Walkability for Convenience and Connectedness

The design of Living Dunes will focus on walkability, nature paths and ponds, and a friendly neighborhood environment. By offering a variety of property types, well-connected streets, and close proximity to businesses and major medical facilities (including the businesses that are currently in the works), residents will be able to comfortably interact with their neighbors, enjoy a healthy, physical lifestyle outdoors, and access everything nearby quickly and easily including the beach!

City Planner Allison Hardin said, “As cities grow and need to find different places to put the populations that are moving into our area, you look for different types of ways to accommodate them and this is one that’s been in practice for hundreds of years.”
